Beijing Pack 3944 is a member of the Boy Scouts of America's Far East Asia Council headquartered in Okinawa, Japan. Operating since 1998, Pack 3944 has offered the Cub Scout program to boys holding foreign passports and valid Chinese visas in all of Beijing’s international schools. The Pack is made up of over 100 boys and a team of volunteer parents from over a dozen different countries.
We have a simple mission: to provide character development, citizenship training, growth in physical and mental fitness, and leadership opportunities for the young people of Pack 3944. We pride ourselves on the diversity of our members, and we are committed to providing young people with an educational and stimulating environment in which to learn and grow

Waves of Fun Welcome-back and Registration Event
Hello, Cub Scout Parents!
It's time for another great Scouting year, starting with a welcome-back and registration event on August 19th at 10 AM in ISB's ES Cafeteria.
Who: Boys in grades 1-5
What: Pack 3944's welcome-back registration event with games
When: Saturday, August 19th at 10 AM to 12 PM
Where: ISB's Elementary School Cafeteria
Why: To kick off another great Scouting year
What to bring: Your son's passport, visa, proof of health insurance, dues of ¥ 1200, around ¥ 300 for uniform, towel and change of clothes
The schedule will be as follows:
1015: Welcoming Remarks
1030: Begin Waves of Fun (rotation through events--20 minutes each)
Waterfight (bring a water gun if you have one, marked with your name)
1035: Parent Meeting, Q&A
1115: End Parent Meeting
Purchase Uniform and other supplies
1155: Finish Waves of Fun, Closing Remarks
1200: Clean up
--No uniform required (but Class B t-shirt welcome should your scout want to wear it).
--Make sure to bring some water, sunblock and a hat, as we are planning for outdoor activities.
--A current passport, valid Chinese visa, and proof of health insurance are required for registration. If you cannot provide these documents, we will unfortunately not be able to welcome your son to the Pack this year. Also, due to strictly-enforced Chinese government policy, Chinese citizens are not allowed to join Cub Scouts--this is why we are required to prove that our Scouts are registered foreign citizens.
--We need some volunteers to help with the Waves of Fun. If you are a returning parent or den leader, please let us know if you can help.
--ISB has new security procedures, and ISB is requiring a parent to man a table at the front entrance. If you are an ISB parent and are able to sit at the front entrance for about one hour, please let us know.
Feel free to forward this email to any friends you think might want to join Scouts this year. If you have any questions, you can contact me any time. See you on the 19th!
If you received this email in error or would like to be removed from distribution, please notify me accordingly.
Yours in Scouting,
Byron Denney, Cubmaster Pack 3944
